Middle School Gum Policy

Below is a reminder about the gum policy at Moreland Ridge. It also outlines the discipline scope and sequence.

Purpose

To maintain a clean, safe, and distraction-free learning environment, gum is not permitted during the school day.

Consequences

The following progressive consequences will be used for students who violate the gum policy:

First Offense

The student will receive teacher detention.
The teacher will document the incident according to school procedures.
The student will be reminded of the expectation that gum is not permitted.

Second Offense

The student will be assigned office detention.
The incident will be documented and referred to the office.
The student will be reminded that additional violations may result in further disciplinary action.

PTSA Reflections

Every year, the PTA Reflections program inspires students to explore their creativity through a unique, student-created theme. Through dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts, students have the opportunity to express their thoughts, feelings, and personal experiences while discovering more about themselves and the world around them.

🌎 This year's 2026–2027 Reflections theme is:

"What My Culture Means to Me"

Culture is more than traditions—it includes the people, values, customs, languages, celebrations, stories, and experiences that shape who we are. This theme invites students to reflect on what makes their own culture meaningful and share that story through the arts.

We can't wait to see the incredible creativity, perspectives, and voices our students bring to this year's Reflections program. Start brainstorming, creating, and sharing your story!
